Warm and windy Friday increases fire risk
A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect until 8pm this evening for most of Nebraska. FIRES that develop will LIKELY spread rapidly today! This is due to WARM temperatures, STRONG winds and DRY conditions. Outdoor burning is NOT recommended.
A WIND ADVISORY is in effect until 6pm this evening for a few counties. Wind gusts up to 45+ mph likely.
Wind gusts will start to pick up this morning and peak in the early afternoon around 3pm.
Peak wind gusts around 40+ mph will happen in the early afternoon hours today.
Today, temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. A WARM and WINDY day for all of us.
A Flood Watch is in place through Saturday evening. Ice jams around the Loup, Platte, and Elkhorn rivers are possible into late Saturday.
Tonight, temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. Winds will be gusting out of the north due to a cold front this evening, bringing us cooler air for Saturday.
A cold front will move through tonight, bringing temperatures down into the 40s for Saturday. Sunday, temperatures warm back up into the 50s and 60s. Monday through Tuesday, rain chances increase bringing us much needed rainfall. Temperatures look to stay in the 50 and 60s through March 9.
