WARM and WINDY Monday brings fire danger

A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect from noon to 8pm Monday for most of the state. Dry and warm conditions, low humidity and windy conditions will lead to high to extreme fire weather.

2021 Klkn

On Monday, temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s with plenty of sunshine and gusty winds reaching up to 35+ mph from the southwest. These conditions will create high to extreme fire weather risks. The warm and dry weather will continue throughout the week, with the exception of Friday. On Friday, a strong low-pressure system is expected to pass through, bringing windy conditions, rain, and snow. The combination of snow and strong winds will likely result in blizzard-like conditions in the western half of the state. Since this system is still six days away, we will provide updates as the forecast becomes clearer.
