Warm & Breezy Tuesday, Rain Chances Thursday
This afternoon, high temperatures warming up into the 50s and 60s under sunny skies. Breezy NW winds will occur further north and west making for fire weather concerns and cooler temperatures. Winds will pick up Wednesday across the state with gusts near 30+ mph.
Far western Nebraska will experience wind gusts near 35-45 mph this afternoon, while most of us experiencing gusts near 15-25 mph.
Thursday afternoon, DRY AIR will take over much of western Nebraska, while more moist air settles in SE Nebraska. This means where ever the moisture settles, the better chance for precipitation near the surface.
Rain potential through Thursday won’t amount to much. Less than a tenth of an inch where the moisture cuts off. Better chance for a few tenths will be in far SE Nebraska.
Snow potential through Friday morning shows the dry air intrusion the further north you go. There is still some uncertainty on timing and position. As of now, the best chance for precipitation will be further south and east. We will have more updates as the day progresses.
War, sunny and breezy conditions continues through Wednesday. Rain and snow chances return Thursday afternoon through Friday night. Uncertainty remains on timing and positioning with these 2 systems. Stay tuned to the latest forecasts this week. Next week brings above average temperatures with sunshine and limited precipitation chances.
