Warm, humid, and dry for Saturday

We’re capping off the shortened workweek with warm and humid weather. Highs topped out in the middle-80s for many on Friday, and there was plenty of sun to go around.

On Friday evening, we can’t rule out a stray shower sneaking into far eastern Nebraska. These showers will be the exception to the rule, as almost everyone will remain mostly clear and dry on Friday evening.

We expect mostly clear skies overnight and into Saturday morning, although some versions of Stormcast are hinting at some low clouds developing early Saturday. We expect lows in the middle to upper-60s on Saturday morning.

Friday Night Forecast

There are still some questions as to how widespread any Saturday morning clouds will be. If they can develop into something more widespread, they may be a bit stubborn to burn off. Either way, we trend toward a mostly sunny sky by Saturday afternoon. High temperatures will be in the middle and upper-80s across southeast Nebraska. We’ll also keep the humidity.

Saturday Forecast

Temperatures climb back into the 90s on Sunday, and we expect mainly sunny skies for Lincoln. However, a few storms are possible on Sunday afternoon and evening in central Nebraska.

While Lincoln likely stays dry on Sunday, the disturbance causing those storms will be in southeast Nebraska on Monday. That brings a chance for storms to the capital city on Monday.

Temperature-wise, we’ll return to near-normal highs for the first half of next week. However, long-term computer model guidance suggests that bigger heat arrives by next weekend. We have reflected this trend in our 10-Day Outlook.
