Warm, Windy Start to the Week on Monday
Forecast:
A warmer end to our Sunday in Lincoln with increasing cloud cover as we head into the overnight hours. Winds continue out of the southeast, which will bring in warmer air for the start of the work week.
Today marks the 13th day this September that we have had a high temperature of 80 degrees or warmer in the Capital City. Despite the most recent warm stretch, last September gave us twice as many days above 80 degrees.
Here are your high temperatures across the state on Sunday. Most of us saw the upper 80s, with a few reaching the low 90s!
Low temperatures tonight will fall into the upper 50s and lower 60s with partly cloudy skies.
In Lincoln, we have a mild close to the weekend this evening with lows reaching the lower 60s. Partly cloudy skies and winds out of the southeast between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
Monday will be breezy with high temperatures across southeast Nebraska in the middle and upper upper-80s.
Sunshine in Lincoln near the lunch hour before a few passing clouds return during the afternoon. A warmer day ahead with highs in the mid-80s, but still well short of our record high (96 degrees in 2023).
Breezy conditions continue into the start of October with highs in the 80s for the upcoming work week. A more unsettled weather pattern looks to be heading our way next weekend, which could bring us a few opportunities to see showers and thunderstorms.
