There’s a greater chance for large hail and predictions of heavy rain with totals of 1″ to 2″ is also predicted.
Storms will move further east by Tuesday but eastern Nebraska could see severe storms as well.
Warm conditions remain with lows overnight mainly in the lower 50’s.
Before the storm system moves in winds will pickup from the southeast gusting to 40 MPH and bring us another day of very warm temperatures.
Many of the forecast models are showing threatening weather to continue into at least early Tuesday afternoon.
An area of low pressure will strengthen over northeast Colorado during the day Monday then move into central Nebraska by Tuesday morning. This low along with the lift of a warm front lifting north into the state will create convection triggering severe storms that could contain heavy rain, large hail, damaging winds and possibly tornadoes.
