Warmer few days before polar plunge

It’ll be easy going early on Wednesday morning with seasonal temperatures to get you out the door.

Clouds that maybe drop a few flakes will be clearing toward the afternoon.

A warm front working through the state will bring warmer temperatures for just about everyone. Southwest Nebraska will flirt with the 50s with ease Wednesday afternoon.

A southwest breeze gusting up to 25 mph in southeast Nebraska will accompany temperatures ranging from the lower 30s to almost 40.

Lincoln should be closer to 40 today. Warmer weather each afternoon will be the case for Thursday and Friday as well. But change is around the corner past this three-day window.

In fact, we’re expecting significantly colder air to move in over the weekend. Highs will drop from the upper 40s to the lower 20s from Friday to Saturday.

Wind chills on Saturday will range from about 0° to 9° throughout the day, even worse on Sunday.

The plunge in temperatures will come with morning wind chills around 10-15 below starting Sunday.

Forecast Next Two Days

This cold air will be around to impact Monday and Tuesday mornings as well.
