Warmer heading into the weekend

Hard to find much to complain about today… we saw rain across much of southeast Nebraska through the morning hours, cleared out for blue skies by the afternoon and temperatures only got to the lower 80s! Here’s a look at those rain totals from the overnight round of rain that lasted through early afternoon.

Rain Into Wed

The rest of today will feature temperatures largely in the 70s through midnight, then cooling to the lower 60s by daybreak. For once, there isn’t anything to show with Stormcast because skies will be clear overnight. With cooling temperatures and clear skies, fog may develop in some spots early Thursday with our recent moisture.

Dma Tonight Low

Most of Thursday will be sunny besides some high clouds returning. Warmer throughout the day, we should see highs nearing normal in the upper 80s. There is some indication that we shift toward storm chances later on Thursday, generally north of our area. The Storm Prediction Center has northeast Nebraska under a Slight risk for the evening, with storms possible after about 6 p.m.

Storms will be very isolated by Thursday night, with a small chance that some of those storms are severe within the yellow shaded (Slight risk) area below.

Slight Thu Night

For the most part, we should see more sunshine through the rest of the week, with temperatures warming day by day. Back to the 90s for Friday and Saturday, before storm chances again on Sunday. That’s still a ways out yet, but we’ll try to enjoy any days off we can from severe weather.
