Warmer on Sunday into Monday
Summertime temperatures return for Sunday, we should see plenty of sunshine after a cloudy start to the day. Winds will be noticeable, but not as strong as Saturday, with an occasional gust to 25 miles per hour.
StormCast shows variable cloud cover early on Sunday, followed by mostly sunny skies.
Sunday morning will be mild for late-March as we start the day in the lower 40s. Our normal low temperatures this time of year are close to freezing.
Clear skies are expected through the overnight hours and into Sunday morning in Lincoln. Wind will slowly die down through the night, with an occasional gust to 30 miles per hour.
Warmer temperatures arrive on Sunday across the state, with highs ranging from the upper 70s to the upper 80s.
We continue to get warmer for Monday, with highs in the middle to upper 80s. Several record high temperatures could once again be in jeopardy.
As the upper air pattern shifts toward the middle of this week, we should see a couple of chances for precipitation. Our first chance arrives on Tuesday, which could bring rain to eastern Nebraska and a chance for snow out west.
Temperatures drop to the 50s and 60s after a warm start to the work week. A wintry mix of precipitation cannot be ruled out on Wednesday and Thursday, with overnight lows approaching the freezing point.
