Warmer Temperatures Sunday, Monday Morning Showers

A chilly start to the day on Sunday with low temperatures this morning falling into the 30s and 40s. Lincoln missed tying the record low for the day by just 2 degrees (Record low: 42 degrees on September 7, 2024).
Winds will shift to be out of the south-southeast today, bringing warmer air to southeast Nebraska. Mostly sunny skies ahead in Lincoln with highs in the upper 70s after a cooler start to the day.
High temperatures across southeast Nebraska will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s on Sunday with mostly sunny skies.
There is a small chance of severe weather for far southwestern Nebraska and portions of the panhandle. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a MARGINAL RISK (Level 1 out of 5) as storms will be capable of producing quarter-size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
Low temperatures across southeast Nebraska going into Sunday will fall into the upper 50s and lower 60s. Partly cloudy skies and winds remaining out of the south-southeast.
In Lincoln, a warmer night ahead following lows in the 40s last night. Partly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 50s with winds out of the south-southeast between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
Morning showers and an isolated thunderstorm will be possible in southeast Nebraska on Monday morning. Stormcast shows showers moving into the area around 7 a.m. before quickly moving off to the east.
High temperatures across southeast Nebraska stay below average in the 70s. A breezy day ahead on Monday with winds out of the south between 10 and 15 miles per hour, gusting to 20.
Mostly cloudy skies in Lincoln after a few morning showers with strong winds out of the south. High temperatures in the Capital City will reach the mid-70s on Monday.
Monday is our next best chance at seeing rain through early next week. Off and on chances of showers begin to move into the picture late next week.
High temperatures return to the 80s beginning on Tuesday. Mostly sunny skies continue for the majority of next week, with small chances of showers and thunderstorms on both Thursday and Saturday. With a shift in the upper air pattern happening today, temperatures look to remain close to average in the lower and mid-80s for the remainder of the extended forecast.
