Warmer yet by the end of the week
Tuesday’s focus of Severe Weather Awareness Week is tornado safety. We have a lot more information that is worth sharing with family, friends, coworkers, teammates, etc. at this link.
The forecast has a “copy and paste” feel to it from Monday. Temperatures again will be up around the upper 60s today with just a bit more wind. Gusts out of the northwest will approach 25-30 mph into the mid- and late-afternoon hours.
Seasonally mild temperatures are expected for everyone across the state, warmest in southwest Nebraska toward McCook.
We’ll be even warmer yet by the end of this week – a couple days in the 80s looks likely for Thursday and Friday (March 27th and 28th).
The rest of the workweek remains fairly dry other than an isolated chance for rain Thursday, mainly off to our east. Better chances for rain still look to hold off until Saturday and Sunday. There may be even some snow trying to mix in for northeast Nebraska into Sunday. I know.
With the isolated chance to see any rain or storms Thursday, a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk starts at Lincoln and extends east. The chance to actually see any severe weather (let alone rain) looks very low.
A warm weather pattern is set to continue for early April as well.
The temperature outlook for the first week of April looks to have decent chances for above average temperatures for that time period (temperatures warmer than the lower 60s).
