Warmest February 15 in 20+ years
A big warm-up is coming to southeast Nebraska Tuesday. Temperatures should top out 20° to 25° above normal, allowing for this to be the warmest February 15 since 2000.
A warm front will pass through southeast Nebraska Tuesday morning. Once the front passes, winds will shift around out of the south. The wind will gust to 35 mph at times during the day.
A mid to high level cloud deck will spread overhead through the morning. That is the one thing that could impact high temperatures Tuesday afternoon as skies will becoming partly sunny, if not overcast. If we get a little bit more sunshine that currently forecast, temperatures could reach the mid 60°s.
A cold front will pass through the state Tuesday night in to early Wednesday morning. Behind the front, winds will shift out of the north, drawing down colder air. Highs will only be in the 30°s Wednesday afternoon. Factor in the wind and wind chills will be in the teens to 20°s.
