Warmest in 22 years; Cold front passes Wednesday morning
Temperatures climbed in to the middle 50° to upper 60°s in southeast Nebraska Tuesday. Beatrice made it to 68°. Lincoln had its warmest temperature since December 15, 66°. Don’t get used to it. Temperatures will be nearly 30° cooler Wednesday afternoon.
A cold front will pass through southeast Nebraska Tuesday night in to Wednesday morning. High temperatures for Wednesday will occur around midnight. You’ll notice the front passing when you hear winds increasing overnight. The winds will shift from the south-southwest to the northwest and begin to gust to 35-40 mph.
We will be greeted to temperatures in the middle 20°s to lower 30°s Wednesday morning.
Throughout the day winds will be blowing out of the north, with gusts to 30 mph. Temperatures will struggle to reach the upper 30°s to lower 40°s by mid-afternoon. Factor in the wind and wind chills will be in the 20°s.
