Warmest of the week Tuesday
Winds now out of the south today will help us to warm some. Cloud cover will also increase throughout the day, becoming somewhat cloudy by the late morning and afternoon. Winds will also increase by the afternoon Tuesday.
Temperatures still should be on their way to the middle and upper 40s later on, seasonable for this point in late November. It’ll be more pleasant compared to Monday for Classes C2, C1 and B in their state championships played in Memorial Stadium throughout the day.
Statewide, some cooler temperatures will be found in north-central Nebraska with highs closer to the middle and upper 30s.
Southwest Nebraska will be closer to 50.
Tuesday night into early Wednesday, a weak disturbance will bring a few flurries and light rain showers from the Panhandle through southwest Nebraska. This light activity should fizzle out closer to sunrise, if not before.
Clouds will decrease on Wednesday, and the temperatures will decrease a little as well. But the colder air of this week (highs in the 30s) will arrive by Thanksgiving and especially the upcoming weekend.
Our first measurable snowfall in Lincoln usually happens closer to November 20th. We’re already past that!
Yet in bringing that up, we may be looking at some snow Friday and into Saturday from a quick system. Some flurries look possible for now, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on that potential by the end of this week.
