Warmest this week, before more precipitation chances later
We’ve got a warmer start to the morning this Tuesday. It’s a frosty start, too, as skies have remained clear for most of the overnight hours.
Not too much going on weather-wise for Tuesday, so expecting a warmer day overall with highs in the lower 40s. Early Wednesday, fog will be possible for tomorrow morning’s commute and lingering through the morning hours.
With that, we’ll be cooler on Wednesday and the rest of this week. We’ll see more cloud cover each day into Friday, as a more active period looks to kick into gear.
Stormcast (below) starts by showing mostly cloudy conditions on Thursday. The active period starts with some smaller chances at light snow (mix of light rain possible) Friday.
Overall, this first system tracks through southern Kansas and weakens onto the Plains. Southwest Nebraska has better chances at a light snow, but this event has minor impacts overall.
Farther out, we’re eyeing a system that develops especially Monday and Tuesday, with the possibility of accumulating snow. Models at this point continue to track through southeast Nebraska, but we’ll have a lot more to figure out in the coming days.
Beyond that – especially if we have snow on the ground – temperatures will be a lot colder.
