Warming with sunshine leads to many days above average

Last Friday, we saw a bit more snow across the state. February is typically the month we see the most snow in a year, but that has not been the case. We are on track for one of the warmest February’s on record for Lincoln.

But we may not be completely done with snow. Our average last snowfall most recently happens around the second to third week in March. And March could be trending cooler than what February has been for us.

Last Snowfall

That being said, we look to be done with snow for February. The next week will hold those temperatures well above normal. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s during a mostly dry period.

There will be a small chance for a little rain come Thursday, but that chance as it currently stands is not looking great.

Week Ahead

As for Monday, we’ll be starting the morning in the 20s before warming up into the upper 50s throughout the afternoon. Some passing clouds will be seen, but overall, we can count on mostly sunny conditions for the day.

Planner Forecast

The extended forecast looks to be very warm through the end of the month. The average temperature for February during this time is in the low to mid 40s, and each day we will be about 15 to 25 degrees ABOVE that! Very impressive.

Temp Trend Above Avg

In the near future, Tuesday and Wednesday will be the warmer days this week until the weekend.
