Warming, yet becoming very windy through midweek
For yet another day, we are starting out with fog and temperatures cooling to around freezing. Visibility at times through the morning could drop to below a quarter mile on Tuesday, before improving into the afternoon. A Dense Fog Advisory is yet again in place for this reason.
Temperatures are going to continue to warm through the middle part of this week. That being said, Tuesday will be one of the last days to enjoy the warmer temperatures with less wind. More wind by Wednesday morning should mean no worries for fog development by then.
By Wednesday and Thursday, strong winds gusting up to 45 mph will be possible as a low develops through western Nebraska and sweeps a cold front through the state. Winds will be out of the south on both Wednesday and Thursday, pushing temperatures to the 60s across southeast Nebraska.
This system will also prompt the chance for some spotty showers and isolated thunder. Lincoln and eastern Nebraska has a “better” chance for spotty rain on Thursday, as the front comes through.
The cool down into this weekend won’t be all that dramatic. Highs will still be in the low 50s to around the mid 40s for the end of the week.
