LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lancaster County judge issued an arrest warrant on Friday for a man accused of buying a vehicle with a stolen identity.

Dekarlos Haynes, 26, of Lincoln was supposed to be in court on Thursday, but he failed to appear, according to court records.

Judge Timothy Phillips moved the hearing to Friday, but Haynes was again a no-show, court documents say.

So Phillips signed a warrant for Haynes’ arrest and revoked his bond.

On May 8, a man discovered that someone had used his name, photo ID and Social Security number to buy a car, police say.

An arrest affidavit alleges that Haynes used the man’s identity to buy a $14,900 Jaguar XE from Los Amigos Auto Sales near 17th and M streets.

He is charged with identity theft resulting in a loss of $5,000 or more.
