WATCH: Demolition begins on old Westbrook Music Building at UNL

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Demolition was underway Thursday on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s old music building.

The old Westbrook Music Building at 11th and R streets, which opened in 1967, is being torn down.

The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts shared a video of the demolition on social media.

The university’s music program is moving to a new facility at 10th and Q streets. It will also be called the Westbrook Music Building.

An open house for the 103,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for Aug. 22 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
