WATCH: Fast-moving flames spread near Nebraska community after lightning strike
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Wildfire season shows no sign of easing up in Nebraska, where local crews fought a field fire before it had a chance of making it to town.
Osceola Fire and Rescue says the blaze broke out on Tuesday just before 10 p.m.
This happened just north of town, and it took both brush trucks to keep the flames from jumping the road into another field.
A number of tractors were also brought in to help contain this fast-moving fire.
Officials say recent upgrades to one of its brush trucks were critical in slowing down the flames and helping them monitor this dangerous situation.
They said this was started by lightning, and they’re asking everyone to pray for rain.
