WATCH: Hail, damaging winds blanket southeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Severe weather passed through southeast Nebraska for the first time in 2025, leaving a trail of hail and wind damage in its path.

Several videos were sent to Channel 8 on the NOW Local News App, showing pea-size hail blanketing the capital city and wind damaging various properties.

This video sent by Tonia shows hail falling in the College View neighborhood around 4:15 p.m.

More videos sent to the app show hail falling in southeast Lincoln around the same time.

PHOTOS: Storms churn up high winds, hail and dust in southeast Nebraska

Toward the end of the storm, wind gusts of up to 65 mph tore across Highway 77 and into Lincoln.

This video sent in by Ken shows his gazebo, which was torn up by the wind in Beatrice.

More backyard items were destroyed in the storm, as Lorraine sent in a video of a tree limb going through her family’s playhouse.
