WATCH: Lincoln garage erupts in flames after gasoline ignites

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Firefighters battled a blaze at a home in northwest Lincoln on Tuesday night.

The fire was reported about 6 p.m. near Northwest 48th Street and West Thatcher Lane.

When Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews arrived, they found a garage engulfed in flames, Battalion Chief Jeremy Gegg said.

It took firefighters about a half-hour to get the blaze under control, Gegg said.

The fire started in a garage when someone was working on an ATV, Gegg said.

It ignited gasoline and spread quickly, reaching the home’s attic. Gegg said neighbors reported hearing explosions.

No one was injured, according to LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman, but three people and their pets were displaced.

The fire caused about $130,000 in damage, according to LFR.
