WATCH: Man jumps over counter at Lincoln pharmacy to steal promethazine

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for a man who stole promethazine bottles from an east Lincoln Walgreens earlier this year.

The theft happened at Walgreens near 70th and O streets on May 31.

Police said a man came into the store and slid a note to a pharmacy tech, demanding she give him promethazine with codeine.

The pharmacy tech tried telling the man they didn’t carry that medication, but he “remained persistent,” according to police.

When the employee walked away, the man jumped over the counter, grabbed “multiple” bottles of promethazine and left the store.

Police said the man was 25 to 35 years old and had a neck tattoo.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
