WATCH: Man sneaks behind counter at Lincoln gas station to steal Swisher Sweets
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for a man who stole Swisher Sweets from a north Lincoln gas station earlier this year.
On March 12, security video captured a man sneaking behind the counter at Casey’s near 33rd and Holdrege streets while the cashier was in the restroom.
The man was caught red-handed, and the employee asked him to leave.
But police said the man walked out with a package of Swisher Sweets. He was seen leaving in a 2007-2012 Dodge Caliber.
Police are also looking for a woman who forged checks for over $4,500 at Pinnacle Bank near 61st Street and Havelock Avenue on July 1.
Those checks were stolen from a purse locked in a vehicle at the Holmes Lake dog park.
The thief shattered at least two car windows at the park and took a pair of purses from the vehicles, according to police.
Investigators think the woman seen in security video at the bank is involved in the vehicle break-ins. Police said the loss is over $13,000.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
