WATCH: Nebraska AD Trev Alberts talks Memorial Stadium renovations

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts held a press conference Thursday on the Memorial Stadium renovations.

Alberts spoke about the unveiled renovation plan, which includes seating improvements and a new south stadium.

The Nebraska Board of Regents will consider the project at its Oct. 5 meeting in Omaha.

“We want this to be the best place to watch a college football game,” Alberts said.

If approved, the renovation should be completed by the 2026 season.

The project will drop Memorial Stadium’s capacity to the mid-70,000 range, according to Alberts.
