WATCH: Thieves steal $3,500 in tools from Lincoln flooring company’s storage unit
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are looking for the thieves who stole several tools from a Lincoln flooring company’s storage unit last month.
Security video captured a group breaking into the storage unit near Northwest 9th Street and Cornhusker Highway around 9 p.m. on Dec. 21.
The thieves put $3,500 in stolen tools — including flooring nailers and a sound system — into a dark-colored SUV, police said.
Police are also searching for the man who stole $1,300 worth of tools from Home Depot near 70th Street and Nebraska Parkway on Oct. 12.
Ten days after the theft, a “similar male” wearing what appeared to be a blond wig tried to shoplift at the Home Depot near 27th Street and Cornhusker Highway, police said.
Staff confronted the man, and he ditched the merchandise before leaving in a blue Dodge pickup truck without plates.
Police think it’s likely the same man involved in the theft on Oct. 12.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
