WATCH: Vehicle slams into car, then drives off in Lincoln’s Near South neighborhood

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A driver hit a woman’s car and drove off without stopping Saturday morning, leaving parts of their car behind.
And it was all caught on camera.
Rosemary Laher parked her car outside of her home on the west side of Pepper Avenue near Sumner Street.
Laher came outside to find debris on the street. She realized the debris was from her car and from the person who hit her.
“The side of my car, the front end, is smashed in,” Laher said, “Obviously it’s wrong, and people need to own up to their mistakes.”
On a neighbor’s Ring camera footage, she saw a vehicle head north down the street, crash into her car and drive off.
Laher found the plastic emblem and parts of the front bumper of the vehicle that hit hers.
Her son searched on Google to find what model of the car the emblem was from.
They think the parts belong to a forest green Suzuki Grand Vitara model between 1998 and 2006.
“How many can there be in this town?” Laher asked. “That’s my thing, is that I would think it would be easy to find because how many can there actually be?”
But police said that they don’t know who the driver is and that there are no updates on the case.
“I’ve kind of heard I’m probably totally screwed because there’s no time to investigate stuff like this,” Laher said.
She thinks the damage will cost her about $1,000.
