Bear In California Home Helps Himself To Food

NEVADA CITY, Ca. (KLKN) – Breakfast went to the bear in a California home, as the animal helped itself to the pantry and freezer in the kitchen.

The homeowners, Al Aragon and Melissa Bryant, woke up around 5 am to see the bear eating Eggo waffles in the kitchen.

Al said he grabbed the cat and went into the bedroom, instead of screaming as his first instinct told him to do.

He was able to record video as the bear calmly went through the pantry, finding a particular like of the Cheerios. Al kept telling the bear to “Go Away”, but of course the bear kept eating.

After about 15 minutes, Al opened a side door and the bear eventually wandered out.

Al said he understands they live in bear country and was just glad the bear was mild-tempered and didn’t do too much damage.

He will keep the doors locked from now on, however.
