Waverly dominates in second half, downs York in Class B tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Waverly beat York 48-31 on Thursday night in the Class B girls state basketball tournament.

The two teams were tied at halftime with 18 apiece.

But the Vikings took off in the second half and didn’t look back, dominating in the fourth quarter.

Parker Christiansen finished with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds.

Christiansen went 8-for-11 in shooting in the second half.

Chloe Koch finished with 12 points for York.

Waverly will play Gretna East on Friday at 7:45 p.m. for the first time this season.
