Waverly football heads to Class B state title game for first time since 1980

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Waverly football took down Bennington 38-18 on Friday night, punching its ticket to Memorial Stadium for the first time since 1980.

Brockston Teply threw for three touchdowns in the first half.

Nathan Axmann ran for two scores, one in the first half and one in the second.

The Vikings keep their undefeated season alive at 12-0 heading into Monday’s title match.

Waverly will play against Gretna East in the Class B championship game.
