Waverly gets $478,000 to expand water supply

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Waverly is getting almost half a million dollars to expand its water infrastructure.
The Lancaster County Board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve $478,516 in federal money for the project.
The funding comes from the American Rescue Plan Act, a 2021 law intended to provide economic relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Waverly plans to drill 13 holes in search of the best place to dig a new well.
“The Lancaster County Board’s decision to allocate a portion of their ARPA funds to the City of Waverly ensures our search for additional well sites is accomplished quickly and helps in offsetting costs incurred by the City.”
A kickoff meeting for the project is set for January.
