Weak, scattered storms possible Monday before drying out this week
With 3.36″ of weekend rain in Lincoln, we are now at our wettest start to August in all of recorded history (through August 10).
With mostly cloudy skies and more rain in the area Monday, temperatures will stay around 80 with a muggy feel.
Ongoing showers and storms through much of Kansas this morning will lift north to give chances to those around I-80 and especially south. There is no threat of severe weather with these storms Monday.
Then we’ll wrap up this soggy pattern to dry out the rest of the week.
Highs will be in the 70s and lower 80s, cooler for those who see rain.
Then school will start for some in Lincoln as early as Tuesday.
We’re talking the first day of school for kindergarten, 6th and 9th graders tomorrow with a warming trend starting and eventually more sunshine.
Then all of Lincoln Public Schools will begin school together on Wednesday.
Knowing we are about to dry out, we’ll get to exhale soon enough after the ferocious weekend storms. “Feels like” temperatures could climb to the lower 100s again by Friday.
