Wednesday’s hot before it’s not again
The hottest day of this week comes around this Wednesday. Temperatures start out on the cool side for students returning back to school this morning. But if you can make it through without a hoodie/jacket, you definitely won’t need one by the afternoon.
It’ll feel sticky again out there as the humidity increases with some moisture returning ahead of the next front.
That said front will bring storms to the Sandhills Wednesday evening and night, with a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk in place for up to 60 mph winds and quarter-sized hail. Coverage of these storms will be seen more so through the southern Panhandle and southwest Nebraska.
Those storms as seen in Stormcast below will weaken and diminish in coverage as dry air filters in across eastern Nebraska. That’ll turn our rain chances to be more spotty in nature throughout Thursday morning and afternoon.
So do not expect a lot of rainfall to accumulate from this. Some higher totals are possible in the Sandhills from those who manage to be directly under a thunderstorm, but most will not see much.
If you’ve been trying to get the car washed recently, it’ll be better to hold off until Friday or this weekend to get the most for your money.
We’ll be in more of a dry pattern that looks to last well into next week, with temperatures also staying closer to 90. We’ll enjoy the fall feels that come around again for this Friday and Saturday!
