Weekend fire causes $225,000 worth of damage to northeast Lincoln home
LFR estimates $150,000 in damage to the house's structure and another $75,000 to contents and vehicles.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A weekend fire caused $225,000 worth of damage to a northeast Lincoln home.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews responded to a house fire near 62nd and Adams Streets on Sunday.
The fire had started in the attached garage and eventually spread into the house, according to LFR.
One person was sent to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The two residents of the home were relocated by the Red Cross, LFR said.
Fire investigators determined that the fire was accidental and caused by a resident who was working on a vehicle in the garage.
Three vehicles were damaged in the fire, and the house had “extensive” damage, according to LFR.
LFR estimates that $150,000 worth of damage was done to the house’s structure and another $75,000 to contents and vehicles.
