Welcome, warmer weather as March ends

A warm front has been lifting north through our area this morning, with comfortable temperatures hovering in the 30s instead of the teens! With a lot more sun expected throughout the day, we should have no problem warming to the mid and upper 60s.

Forecast Thursday

The sunshine will come with some haze today, though. As of about 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning, southeast Nebraska has trended toward poorer air quality due to wildfires in northern Oklahoma and wind out of the south. The Air Quality Index is worth monitoring today if you have plans for an extended time outdoors.

After the recent round of winter, we’re back to the spring-like temperatures you may have been craving. Winds will be light again, out of the southwest around 5-15 mph.

Our next chances for rain are spotty and limited in coverage. Stormcast has a few showers grazing the Kansas border late Friday into Saturday. Temperatures take a slight hit after a cold front moves through, but still around the 60s this weekend.

Weather should cooperate for all the Easter egg hunts around town, with a small chance early Sunday morning before we’ll be watching for possible storms late Sunday night into Monday.

No major temperature swings are expected over the next 10 days that cover the end of March and early April!
