‘We’re in the thick of it’: John Cook and Huskers look forward to last four games

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska volleyball is looking forward to the final four games of the season after losing to No. 6 Ohio State on Sunday.

But despite the loss, head coach John Cook said on Tuesday that the Huskers learned a lot.

He acknowledged that the Buckeyes are a very experienced team that played great.

“They showed us where we have to get better,” Cook said.

Cook said the Huskers need to kill more balls, continue to pass great and stop making service errors.

“We got a lot of teaching moments out of this match that we can teach from, and our players got to take advantage of that,” he said.

Nebraska’s four remaining games include a matchup with conference rival Wisconsin.

The Huskers are currently sitting at 14-2 in the conference, behind Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Cook said the focus right now is the next point and that the team knows what’s at stake for the rest of the regular season.

“There’s gonna be a lot of big matches with a lot on the line, so it’s great,” he said. “And we’re in the thick of it.”

Nebraska will once again play Iowa on Friday, but this time in Iowa City.  That match will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
