Westbound I-80 shut down between Lincoln and Omaha briefly

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Interstate 80 has been opened and closed in various parts throughout Nebraska all Wednesday long because of the winter storm, and at 5pm it was closed at mile marker 420 near Greenwood between Lincoln and Omaha due to several crashes in that area. It re-opened around 6:30pm.
Troopers report multiple crashes in the area. Near whiteout conditions fueled by blowing snow and heavy winds just make travel treacherous.
NDOT put it bluntly on social media “Please avoid travel the duration of the storm”.
