What was that thing in the sky over Lincoln?

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — If you saw a big white balloon in the sky on Wednesday, you’re not alone.

Several Channel 8 viewers reported seeing the object in the Lincoln area.

Late in the afternoon, a balloon was sitting in the air near Waverly for several hours, according to flightradar24.com.

But there’s no reason to fear, officials said.

It’s not a Chinese spy balloon, or an alien spacecraft for that matter.

The National Weather Service in Omaha said a South Dakota aerospace company launched multiple balloons.

There were three in the Lincoln area on Wednesday and one near Hastings, the weather service said.
