Widespread Rain Thursday, Evening Wintry Mix

This afternoon, temperatures staying steady around 37-42 degrees. Gusty NW winds will also occur making for a colder feel. Expect light to moderate rain all day in SE Nebraska with rain/snow mix happening near 8pm. Rain totals could range from 0.50″-0.75″+. Snow will be on the lesser end due to the warmth and rain. Better snow potential on the back end of this system where less rain and cooler air occurs.

Skycast Today

Light to moderate rain showers will begin this morning across SE Nebraska. A few embedded thunderstorms are also possible. Rain->snow transition timing: 5pm-midnight. Rain continues through the evening hours before attempting to transition to snow by 8pm.
Drier air will be in place in some areas, where lower rainfall totals are expected. This rainfall and the relatively warmer temperatures will play a role in limiting and shaping snow chances.

Rain potential through this evening won’t amount to much the further north and west you go. Some spots in SE Nebraska could get close to an inch of rain. This rain and warmer temperatures will lessen snow totals farther south. Colder air and less rain out west could mean better snow accumulations.
