Williams leads Huskers to double-digit win over Oregon State in Diamond Head Classic

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska secured its first win at a multi-team event in over two decades on Wednesday.

Brice Williams led the Huskers to a 78-66 win over Oregon State in the Diamond Head Classic championship in Hawaii.


Williams, who was named MVP of the event, put up 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting.  He also had a season-high seven rebounds and four assists.

Berke Büyüktuncel scored 16 points and Juwan Gary contributed another 14 in the final.

Nebraska hasn’t won a multi-team event since the 2000 San Juan Shootout.

The Huskers return home to face Southern on Monday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
