Wind kicks up dust around Lincoln, reducing visibility

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Dust swarmed the Lincoln area on Friday amid high winds.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said the dust was reducing visibility across the county.

“Buckle up, maintain a safe following distance, and turn on headlights if needed,” the sheriff’s office said on social media.

Dennis, a user of the NOW Local News App, uploaded a video of dusty skies near Ceresco, just to the north of Lancaster County.

He titled it “Welcome to the dust bowl” and said birds were having trouble flying in the high winds.
