Windy and dry conditions fuel critical fire weather
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER: This afternoon through Tuesday afternoon, expect gusty winds up to 40+ mph combined with very dry air, especially across the West. These conditions will create critical fire danger.
- Winds: Gusts over 40 mph
- Humidity (RH): Below 25%
- Risk: Critical fire danger due to dry fuels + strong winds
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged through Tuesday afternoon.
Relative humidity values will be less than 30% across the state Monday. This dry air mixed with gusty winds, dry vegetation and not much rainfall will result in critical fire danger.
Winds look to calm down after Tuesday! This will make for a pleasant end to the week, with temperatures staying in the upper 60s.
High temperatures this afternoon will reach the mid to upper 60s under sunny skies and windy conditions.
A chilly and brisk evening, with lows falling into the 30s across the west and 40s further east. A west breeze will enhance the chill, so a jacket will be handy for any nighttime plans.
Windy conditions will continue through Tuesday evening. Temperatures will look to stay below 70 degrees the next 10 days! We could see some light rain late Thursday into Friday due to a system from Kansas. Also, keeping an eye on rain and storm chances near Halloween. The best chances currently point towards October 26-28. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
