North winds will stay strong through Friday afternoon, with peak gusts of 30–35 mph across eastern Nebraska.
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER will continue Friday afternoon across SE Nebraska, where a RED FLAG WARNING is in place. Saturday, the whole state will likely be under a Red Flag Warning due to even stronger winds.
Headed to the Huskers Spring game?? Have a jacket handy. Temperatures will reach the 50s and 60s, but strong south winds will be gusting to near 40-45 mph through the game. I would suggest sitting on the south side of the stadium as the winds will be behind you.
Friday & Saturday, expect sunny skies and gusty winds. Sunday looks very pleasant as winds will be lighter. Next week brings much needed moisture and rain chances across eastern Nebraska. We could see some MARGINAL severe weather Monday night into Thursday and Friday. Still keeping an eye on next Friday as models hint at a line of thunderstorms across eastern Nebraska. The severe threat could be greatest on Friday.
