Windy & warmer Friday forecast 3/25/2022
It’s a chilly Friday morning with wind chill values in the 30s and frost on some surfaces outside, but we won’t stay cold all day. Sunny skies will boost our temperatures back to seasonal highs in the upper 50s and low 60s. While this does sound nice, we actually will have to deal with gusty wind speeds. Wind gusts above 35 mph are likely today and this combined with dry air, is raising the concern for fire weather. A Red Flag Warning goes in effect at noon today and will remain in effect until 9 PM for most of eastern Nebraska. Avoid burning and keep an eye out for fires on the sides of the interstate. Temperatures drop to the mid-20s tonight with clear skies and calmer wind speeds. We stay seasonal this weekend in the 50s and eventually warm back above average early next week. Highs will near the 80s on Tuesday and the chance for thunderstorms is likely late in the day.
