Windy Wednesday with cooler temperatures 2/9/2022
Happy Wednesday! Are you getting ready to head out the door in Norfolk or Lincoln at 6 AM? Temperatures are mild in the 40s there, and are a tad bit cooler in the 30s for everyone else in southeast Nebraska. Keep in mind that temperatures will likely tumble a little as we inch closer to sunrise, but most of the area will remain in the 30s. The mild temperature trend carries into the afternoon today and highs will peak in the low to mid-50s. While this is cooler in comparison to the start of the week, it’s still above average and mild for February. Blustery northwesterly wind speeds return into the afternoon hours with gusts around 30 mph again. More clouds will also be present during the afternoon so expect sunshine mixed with clouds for most of the day. These clouds will linger into the overnight hours and temperatures will drop into the mid-20s. Parts of the area could even see light rain and snow flurries late this evening and into overnight tonight. Some of this moisture could might stick around during the day tomorrow, but I wouldn’t get too excited. Most of the precipitation will be light and some of you might not even see any. High temperatures continue to warm into the low 50s with breezy conditions until Friday, but a cold front cools us down into Saturday. Highs on Saturday will only reach the low 30s with sunny skies.
