LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Officials say westbound lanes of Interstate 80 are now closed at Grand Island.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation says closures will continue to move eastward as parking locations and facilities fill up along I-80.

Officials say much of Interstate 80 eastbound is back open.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation said around 10:45 a.m. Monday that I-80 eastbound was open from Big Springs.

Westbound I-80 remains closed from Kearney to the Wyoming border and beyond, with Wyoming reporting drifts as high as six feet, NDOT said.

The Nebraska State Patrol said as of 8:30 a.m. truck facilities are full west of Kearney, and routes into Wyoming and Colorado remain closed.

Highway 30 remains open for local traffic only, the patrol said.

NSP says several other major roadways in the panhandle that were closed Sunday are beginning to open up.
