Wisconsin man charged after two overdose at birthday party in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Wisconsin man has been charged after he and another man overdosed at a child’s birthday party in Lincoln last Saturday, according to an arrest affidavit.
Kalvin Eichelberger, 37, of Milwaukee is accused of providing the cocaine that he and Brennan Johnson overdosed on.
First responders were sent to a house near Seventh Street and Bridger Road on a report of two men unconscious and not breathing.
When they arrived, they used Narcan and CPR to revive both Eichelberger and Johnson, who were unresponsive and not breathing.
Both men were taken to a local hospital for medical care.
At the house, a bag containing suspected cocaine was found in Eichelberger’s pocket, according to the affidavit. A folded dollar bill that contained 1 gram of suspected cocaine was also found.
When investigators questioned Eichelberger, he said he didn’t know how drugs were found in his system at the hospital.
Investigators then asked Eichelberger about the cocaine that was found in his pocket. He told them that the police must’ve planted it on him, according to the affidavit.
Investigators also questioned Johnson, and he told them that Eichelberger came to the birthday party with a friend and asked if he wanted to do cocaine.
Johnson said he initially declined the offer, but Eichelberger asked again later, and Johnson said he agreed because he felt pressured to do it.
Eichelberger then pulled out and unfolded a $1 bill that contained apparent cocaine, Johnson said.
Eichelberger used a key to scoop some of the cocaine, and both he and Johnson snorted it, according to the affidavit.
Johnson ended up in the hospital for three days. The hospital told him that he had overdosed on probable fentanyl.
Eichelberger, who was already in jail on an out-of-state warrant, was cited in the overdose on Wednesday. He was officially charged with the delivery of a controlled substance.
