Man rescued after driving into Missouri River in northern Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Niobrara man was hospitalized Saturday after driving into the Missouri River in northern Nebraska.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 5 a.m. near 524th Street and 893rd Road, just north of Niobrara.
A 66-year-old man was approaching the boat ramp area and continued to drive into the Missouri River.
Witnesses helped get the driver out of the water. He was taken to a hospital in Creighton with unknown injuries.
The sheriff’s office said the driver was not intoxicated.
Crews later removed the vehicle from the river.
