LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman tried setting her father on fire Sunday before breaking into an Omaha church, police say.

Around 5:20 a.m., officers responded to a home near 11th and Dorcas streets on a report of a fight between a father and daughter.

The father said his daughter — 29-year-old Noemi Guzman — doused him in a flammable liquid and cut him with a knife, according to police.

Guzman tried lighting a fire inside the home before leaving the area, police said.  Her father had injuries that were not life-threatening.

About an hour later, officers were sent to St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church near 10th and William streets.

The priest called police after Guzman broke into the rectory.

Guzman was armed with a knife and destroying property inside the church, police said.

The Omaha Fire Department used a ladder truck to get the priest out of a second-floor window.

Guzman then barricaded herself inside the church.

Officers took her into custody around 10 a.m. as she was trying to jump from a second-floor window.

Guzman was taken to a hospital, and charges are pending.
