Woman arrested by Omaha Police Department for murder dating back to 2022

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –An Omaha woman has been arrested in connection to a homicide that happened at Joe’s Sports Bar in 2022.

Omaha Police Department said 26-year-old Kanesha Plater was arrested for the second-degree murder of 20-year-old Vincent Burns.

Platter was also charged with the use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The shooting took place in January 2022 where off duty officers called for backup after 11:50 p.m. when someone fired shots at the bar.

Burns was transported to Nebraska Medical Center where he later died.

Two others were injured during the incident and were treated at different hospitals for minor injuries.
